Showcases

My first show at HSPVA is over! Suffice to say, I had an amazing experience. Loved working with so many talented people, and of course the lovely and beautiful Ms. Cynthia Ogden. She is such a great director. Performing and acting make me so happy. I'm excited for next year, maybe I'll actually get a lead role in something. My favourite scene was the "Tet Prediction" scene when I was a colonel! It was so great working with my friends and the people I love.

In other news, I'm thinking of my 16th birthday party and what I want to do. I was thinking of having a really nice tea party, pastel-themed, where there would be jelly donuts, macarons, cupcakes, and lemon tarts and we could all sing and take polaroids and just chill and have fun. We could also go to the Houston preview of the movie "Malificent". IDK. We'll see. I'm excited though :-)

Last weekend, I made some bacon egg cups; they turned out PRETTY WELL.

Bacon Egg Cups

 Stuff you need:

  • Muffin tray
  • Bacon (I got uncured)
  • Eggs (number depends on how many you want to make, I got organic brown ones)
  • Herbs (I have rosemary, but anything works)
  • Cottage cheese (optional)
Materials
Line your pan with oil & fry the bacon till its edges are a golden colour, but not too brown because it's still going to cook in the oven.

Pat your bacon to soak up excess + unhealthy oil (but not too much, will explain why later)
Cut your bacon stripes into ½ to line them criss cross like the one in the foreground, or about ¾ of the way for it to be circular, like the one at the top in the middle
Since the bacon is already slightly greasy, you don't need to line the pan with cooking oil.
Crack the eggs into the muffin cups! Add salt, pepper, herbs, and cottage cheese.
Bake for 12-15 mins in the oven @ 400 degrees Farenheit

Take out with a knife (if it's sticky) and enjoy! :-)

Farenheit 451 is SO SO interesting! I hope the end doesn't disappoint though.

Galveston (more commonly referred to as "Galvy")

Well... my weekend has been pretty eventful, to say the least. It all started out with........
a sleepover at Sammie's house! She was supposed to pick me up at 5:30 but came at 9:30 instead.. it's alright though, we had fun
Her condo is really REALLY NICE (??) This is the main lobby area place. Perfect selfie place
Also her dog pooped freaking everywhere so she had to clean up its mess

V. cool coffee machine? We had hot cocoas
I hadn't been to Galveston before, but I think it was a little over-glorified. Still, it was super fun. Happy Birthday Ragan!
A first glance at Galveston

Some stuff on sale @ the flea market.

Ok, so this shop was selling beady things?
This stall was really weird.. they were selling things to wear on your feet (?) I didn't think it was practical at all, considering it was $20 for a pair of weird things you could put on your feet.

BEACH DAY
We saw this banner thing at a stall and someone helped us take a photo. My neck looks ratchet.

Pretty Cafe

The beach in a small jar! I thought this was so pretty

We got tired of shopping, so we went to a place called "Mosquito Cafe". Kind of weird cause everyone there was white, so they all stared at me when I went in. I order quesadillas with Spinach and mushroom! The potato salad was really good! I loved it. Ragan got a Spinach pasta, Sammie shrimp tacos, and Qualee a steak sandwich. We couldn't finish the meal.

Peep my food

I'd give it a 7.5/10. Weird tables and a shit ton of birds. But good food

We met Ms. Elmore and her family at the cafe
What a nice and weird coinkydink! We sang Ragan the birthday song in public.
The beach!

A picture! IDK what my mouth is doing. But I look good so it's ok

YEET!
We met Cameron at the beach and we all went for ice cream. We also *tried* to play sports. #PVA

I swear I only eat cookies and cream ice cream. The guy was nice and gave me 2 scoops even though I paid for one
He probably felt bad for me or something

All our ice cream! :-)
We went shopping some more after that. I bought some fantastic smelling shea butter soap for my mom and for anyone else as a birthday gift. We all got matching shirts. We went for dinner at this place called "The Spot". Interesting concept. Everything there was fried.

Summary: Galveston is nice when you ignore the drunk people and the scary people. Happy Birthday Ragan.

Came home at around 10:30pm (?) I had so much fun though. I love hanging out with my friends.

Adios

Japan Fest & Tiger's Den

What? Why does my title sound so auspicious?
We went to Japan Fest in Hermann park around 11:30 this morning and the weather was pretty nice.

Okinawa Okonomiyaki
The park
Complimentary Sushi / Tempura / Curry w Rice

Some stuff they were selling
There was a game where you paid $2 to get a "fishing net" made out of rice paper
and could catch as many fish as possible until your net broke

My mom wanted to take a selfie so

Super cool flowers that were hand-made out of clay by a talented artist!
You could touch them- they were rubbery and bouncy.

I couldn't eat a lot of stuff but that was OK because the curry was excellent! We had to leave early because I had class (oops). I may go back tomorrow.

We went to one of my favourite places after class, "nu cafe". They have really good shaved ice, bubble tea, etc (your typical Taiwanese food and dessert place).

Green Tea shaved ice with mango & mochi
Right across from the cafe, we went to this super popular place called "Tiger's Den" for dinner.

The interior of the restaurant

Focus: Tonkatsu Ramen
Background: Spicy Miso Ramen
The Ramen was amazing. They cooked the egg exactly how I liked it (half/half with the egg yolk oozing out) and had yummy bamboo shreds inside. The broth was amazing. My mom said it was one of the best bowls of Ramen she has ever tasted and she has eaten a lot of good food.

Teriyaki Chicken wings, anyone?

Japanese chefs hard at work
So... up to that point I was going to give this place an 8/10, but the dessert was what stole my heart (omg it was so good).

Small, crispy, soft, fried dough fritters with Pandan sauce
Doesn't that SOUND amazing? It was so good. It was super soft and the pandan sauce was really delicious. The whole basket only cost $4. Affordable place with a great ambience & service. I'm actually so coming back. All in all, gr8 day. See ya :-)

In other news, I got a new bikini today that is super adorable and am drinking an avocado milkshake- still in my milkmaid braids because I don't wanna take them out! Rehearsal is going ok, I hate the pollen outbreak, and I'm currently reading Farenheit 451

Missing School

Well, I guess that there's only one good thing that comes from being sick- missing school. I had terrible eye allergies and sinuses so I stayed home. In other news, I got to see my brother's school play.

Peep our OOTDs

My bro dressing frat/preppy for his role as "Sports announcer" (??)

Afterwards we had drive-thru Macs so the day was ok
Bye for now

First post!

Wow, I haven't been on blogspot in a LOOONG time. The last time I used this platform was when I was 10 and had bad grammar.
